Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI seeks a Registered Nurse to supervise and evaluate nursing care under the Clinical Manager. You will provide direct patient care, plan from admission to discharge, and address aging and cultural factors.

The role includes leadership, teaching patients and families, participating in quality improvement, and serving as a preceptor to new graduates. Night shifts with every other weekend/holiday.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Rhode Island or NCLEX/compact licensure as per state requirements.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred; patient care across life span.
• Demonstrates knowledge to care for patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care.
• Delegate, supervise and participate in safe nursing activities.
• Evaluate care effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with healthcare team, patient and family on discharge planning.
• Provide teaching based on patient/family needs.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research.
• Maintain clinical competencies and required safety trainings.
• Serve as a preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
