Job summary

Brown University Health at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence seeks a registered nurse to implement, supervise and evaluate patient care from admission to discharge. You will provide leadership and teaching to ensure high-quality, culturally sensitive care for diverse patient populations.

Under direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, you will participate in quality improvement and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes, with a night shift and rotating weekend/holiday schedule.

Qualifications

• State RN licensure in RI is required.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
• Knowledge of care across lifespan with aging considerations.
• BLS and ACLS/PALS as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care.
• Provide leadership by delegating, supervising and participating in safe nursing care.
• Evaluate effectiveness of patient care and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with healthcare team, patient, family and community services on discharge planning.
• Assess and provide teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Serve as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
