Job summary

Cynet Health seeks an experienced RN for the Mother Baby unit in Oxnard, CA. This 13-week travel assignment runs nights, with 12-hour shifts. The unit comprises L&D and postpartum, including 7 labor and delivery beds, 4 triage beds with 2 overflow beds, and 27 postpartum beds with a 5-bed nursery.

There are about 3 births per day; ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications are required. Candidates must follow AWOHNN ratios and be prepared to circulate in C-section suites when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• California RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP certifications required.
• C-section experience preferred; able to circulate in C-section suites.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the L&D and postpartum units.
• Circulate in C-section suites as needed.
• Support with grower/feeders and newborn care on postpartum/Semia.
• Follow EMR charting and unit protocols; on-call 24/7 as needed.

Description:The unit comprises L&D and Postpartum.There are 7 labor and delivery beds and 4 triage beds with 2 overflow beds.It also has 27 postpartum beds, including a 5-bed nursery.On average, there are 3 births per day, amounting to approximately 1545 per year.ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications are required.Candidates must follow AWOHNN guidelines for ratios.The fetal monitoring system interacts with the electronic medical record system.Charge nurse roles are available on this unit, supported by resource nurses for breaks.Nurse aides and OB techs assist with deliveries, scrubbing in for C-sections and stocking supplies.Weekend shifts require working 4 out of 4 weeks.Call is optional but preferred.Holidays are scheduled in coordination with permanent staff.Scrubs are navy in color.There are no ventilators on the unit.An OB/neonatologist is on-call 24/7 with a 30-minute response time.Respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24/7.Shifts consist of 12 hours each.C-section experience is required to circulate in the suites.Nurses may float between L&D and postpartum as needed.Postpartum nurses will assist with tasks in the NICU and L&D, primarily with grower/feeders.Common diagnoses include high-risk deliveries, cases involving substance abuse, and patients lacking prenatal care.Candidates must have 2-3 years of experience, with at least one prior travel contract preferred.The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shift cancellations during a 13-week assignment.The charting system used is electronic and requires familiarity with it.
