Optalis Healthcare is seeking an experienced MDS Coordinator to manage the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, ensuring timely completion and CMS-compliant submissions. You will lead interdisciplinary collaboration to support accurate assessments and appropriate reimbursement.

The role requires an active RN license in Michigan, experience with MDS coordination or similar nursing leadership, and proficiency with MDS software and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Michigan with no restrictions.
• Experience coordinating MDS or similar nursing leadership role.
• Knowledge of MDS/RAI process and CMS reimbursement guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate MDS assessments within regulatory timelines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure accuracy of assessments.
• Review and validate MDS data before submission to state databases.
• Monitor RUG scores to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
• Provide training to staff involved in MDS completion and documentation.
• Coordinate with billing regarding assessment codes and reimbursement processes.
• Support quality improvement initiatives through MDS data analysis.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary staff and stakeholders.
