Key duties include coordinating assessments within regulatory timelines, collaborating with the care team, training staff, and ensuring data quality for optimal RUG scores and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Michigan with no restrictions.
• Experience in MDS coordination or similar nursing leadership role.
• Knowledge of CMS reimbursement guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate completion of MDS assessments within regulatory timelines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure accuracy of assessments.
• Review and validate MDS data before submission to state database.
• Monitor RUG scores and ensure appropriate reimbursement.
• Provide training to staff involved in MDS completion and documentation.
• Coordinate with billing department regarding assessment codes and reimbursement processes.
• Support quality improvement initiatives through MDS data analysis.
• Knowledge of MDS/RAI process and CMS reimbursement guidelines.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and communicate effectively.
