Job summary

Mercy in Missouri is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to lead nursing care for a defined patient population, maintaining staffing and resources to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. Mercy Hospital is committed to teamwork and excellence in patient care.

You will delegate, supervise staff, participate in performance improvement, and ensure compliance with safety and infection-control policies. Collaborative practice with physicians and administration is essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing in the applicable state of practice.
• Four (4) years of experience in clinical specialty or related area.
• Basic computer skills including data entry, Windows, and MS Office are required.
• Certifications: CPR NPR.
• To ensure patient safety, it is mandatory that all licensed coworkers who provide direct patient care pass a medication and math competency test before assuming medication administration responsibilities.
• Preferred Education: BS/MS preferred.
• Preferred Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Preferred Certifications: PALS.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of quality patient care to a defined group of patients.
• Maintain staffing at an appropriate level and assure adequate skills to meet patient problems.
• Delegate appropriately and direct staff in the delivery of care; collaborate with medical staff and administration.
• Ensure regulations and standards are met and maintain safe environment; participate on nursing committees as assigned.
