Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery to provide specialized obstetric and newborn care in Valentine, Nebraska. The RN assesses, monitors, and supports mothers and babies through labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.

The role involves assisting with deliveries, administering medications and IV therapy, and ensuring patient safety and education in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in the practice state or Compact.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certs preferred or required per facility policy.
• Recent Labor & Delivery or Women's Health nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and provide nursing care to antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients.
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns, uterine activity, and maternal status throughout labor and delivery.
• Assist physicians during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
• Provide newborn care, stabilization, and patient/family education.
• Recognize and respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
