Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients.
• Monitor fetal heart rate, uterine activity, and maternal status during labor.
• Assist physicians during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and treatments.
• Provide newborn care, stabilization, and family education.
• Recognize obstetric and neonatal emergencies and respond appropriately.
• Maintain clinical documentation and EMR records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery provides specialized, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period. The RN assesses patient conditions, monitors fetal and maternal well-being, assists with deliveries, administers medications, and collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality maternal and newborn care.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or Compact RN License.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications preferred or required per facility policy.
• Recent Labor & Delivery, Women's Health, or Obstetrics nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities
