Job summary

SoftPath Medical seeks an experienced RN for our ICU unit. The facility supports ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, stroke, and other critical diagnoses, with an RN: patient ratio of 2:1 in the ICU.

First-time travelers with strong ICU experience are welcome. You will work with CNAs, RNs, RTs, and hospitalists 24/7 to provide comprehensive care, line management, ventilator care, and hemodynamic monitoring.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum ICU experience: 2 years.
• First-time travelers accepted with strong ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide ICU nursing care to ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, stroke patients.
• Manage ventilators and titrate vasoactive meds with team support.
• Monitor patients and respond to changes promptly.
• Coordinate with CNAs, RTs, and physicians to ensure patient safety.

• Teaching hospital: Part of a teaching system, but no residents on site

• Stroke Center: Primary stroke center

Unit Information

• Beds: 16
• Average daily census: 10
• Minimum ICU experience required: 2 years
• First-time travelers accepted: Yes, with strong ICU experience

ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, stroke, and other medical ICU patients

Patient Ratios

• RN: 2:1 for ICU patients, 3:1 for intermediate care patients
• LPN: Not applicable
• CNA: Typically 1 CNA assists on the unit, sometimes 2
