Description:This position is for a Registered Nurse in an Intensive Care Unit.The ICU consists of 16 beds with an average daily census of 10 patients.Patient types include ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, and stroke.The nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1 for ICU patients and 3:1 for Intermediate Care patients.There will typically be 1 CNA assisting on the unit, occasionally 2.Support staff includes charge nurses and phlebotomy services.Respiratory therapy is available 24/7.Clientists and intensivists are present around the clock.Telemetry monitoring is provided, but does not cover CCU rhythms.The unit employs EPIC for electronic medical records.The IV pump used is Alaris, and medication dispensing is handled by Omnicell.Unit-specific equipment includes Bair Hugger, Verathon Bladder Scanner, and Blanketrol machine.Traveling nurses may float to Med-Surg units with a 4:1 ratio or assist in the Emergency Department as a resource.The working culture values supporting new graduates and encouraging their professional growth.
