Impact Recruiting Solutions is seeking an RN Health Care Facility Surveyor for a Quality Improvement Consulting Company, supporting internal and external customers nationwide in a technically engaging environment.
Responsibilities:
The position is 100% remote with up to 75% travel. The Surveyor will participate as a team member or leader on various surveys (re-certification, comparative, complaint investigation, revisits) across long-term care and other healthcare facilities such as ambulatory surgical centers, ICFs/IID, ESRD, PRTF, hospitals, critical access hospitals, and hospices. The role involves:
- Conducting on-site surveys to assess compliance with federal regulations
- Preparing for surveys, including off-site prep, facility tours, care observations, record reviews, and staff/family interviews
- Evaluating healthcare quality, patient rights, and facility physical conditions
- Communicating deficiencies to facility personnel during reviews and exit conferences
- Assessing and determining acceptability of correction plans
- Performing follow-up and monitoring surveys to ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Supporting facility and bureau training and participating in work groups
Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Completion of CMS's Long-Term Care Basic Training and passing the SMQT
- At least 2 years of recent surveyor experience in long-term care facilities
- Current RN licensure
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to manage survey processes independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks independently and collaboratively
- Effective conflict resolution and assistance-seeking skills
- Willingness to travel up to 75% regularly
