CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and SMQT certification are required.
Impact Recruiting Solutions is seeking a RN Health Care Facility Surveyor to join a Quality Improvement Consulting Company, supporting internal and external customers nationwide in a technically engaging environment.
Requirements of the RN Health Care Facility Surveyor :
- Must have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Must have completed CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
- At least two (2) years of recent experience as a surveyor accrediting or certifying long-term care facilities.
- Maintain current RN licensure.
- Proven ability for independent decision-making during the survey process.
- Ability to prioritize tasks independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to discuss conflicts openly and seek assistance when needed.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities :
This position is remote with up to 75% travel. The Surveyor will participate as a team member or leader in various surveys (re-certification, complaint investigation, etc.) across different healthcare settings, including hospitals, hospices, and specialty clinics. Key activities include:
- Conducting on-site surveys to assess compliance with Federal regulations.
- Preparing for surveys, including off-site prep, facility tours, care observations, record reviews, and staff/family interviews.
- Evaluating care quality, patient rights, and facility physical conditions.
- Communicating deficiencies and compliance issues during on-site reviews and exit conferences.
- Assessing and approving correction plans.
- Performing follow-up visits to monitor corrective actions.
- Participating in training and work groups as needed.
