Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with a focus on pain management, documentation, and timely response to patient needs.

You will educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care, contributing to excellent patient outcomes. The role requires Florida RN licensure (or compact licensure), a nursing diploma or ASN, and current BLS;

Qualifications

• Florida RN license active or compact licensure
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS and/or PALS/ENPC certifications within 90 days of hire/transfer
• NVCI certification within 30 days of hire/transfer
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
• TNCC certification preferred
• National Board Certification (CEN or CPEN) highly preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in the ED
• Assess patient pain regularly and manage pain with reassessment
• Perform procedures and document care in the medical record
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up
• Explain follow-up steps and self-management strategies to patients and caregivers
