HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, FL is hiring a Freestanding Emergency Room RN for the new Riverview location opening early 2027. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team, following established nursing models and the hospital's standards.

The role emphasizes pain management, proactive responsiveness, patient education, and advocacy.

Qualifikationen

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum one year prior Emergency Room RN experience strongly preferred.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certifications required within 6 months of hire.
• Current CPI and TNCC certifications required within 6 months of hire.
• Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

Aufgaben

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
