Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking an RN Clinical Coordinator to lead a nursing unit in a University Freestanding ER. You will ensure high-quality patient care, coordinate shifts, mentor staff, and collaborate with the management team to optimize outcomes across the unit.

The role requires clinical excellence in ER nursing, strong communication, and the ability to implement policies that support a patient-first approach.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse (or compact license with FL requirement within 60 days).
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum one year ER RN experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• PALS and/or ENPC certifications within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• TNCC certification preferred.
• CPI training required within 6 months of hire/transfer for new hires and transfers.
• National Board Certification (CEN or CPEN) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of unit functions during the shift.
• Directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care per policies and procedures.
• Acts as a resource for staff and aligns care with the organization’s mission and values.
• Assist with admission and discharge processes for throughput efficiency.
• Collaborate with management to assess and improve quality of care in the unit.
• Support patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when needed.
• Oversee staff scheduling and labor to meet patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Assist with inventory control and supplies/equipment management.
