Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or eligible for compact licensure with FL RN license within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Current PALS and/or ENPC certifications within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Current NVCI certification within 30 days of hire/transfer.
• Current NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• TNCC certification preferred.
• National Board Certification (CEN or CPEN) highly preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments after interventions.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider and documents care promptly.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, plans, medications and follow-up—translating medical terminology as needed.
• Educates on non-medicinal follow-up measures like diet, exercise and self-management.
