Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care across Medical-Surgical Telemetry units, the ED, ICU or PACU as needed. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Sciences degree preferred; Associate in Nursing or Nursing Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 12 months of clinical nursing experience.
• Basic EKG competence.
• Certifications in progressive critical care and medical/surgical nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float across inpatient Medical-Surgical Telemetry units, ED, ICU or PACU as needed.
• Perform nursing assessments, plan and coordinate care with the care team.
• Document care using IPOC and the Watson Model of Care.
• Maintain patient safety, meet regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement.
• Provide patient/family education and discharge planning support.
• Demonstrate effective communication via SBAR in hand-offs.
