Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles seeks a Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) for 12-hour shifts on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. You will organize, plan, and deliver patient/family-centered care using the Watson Model of Care, aligned with the hospital's mission and core values.

The role requires one year of clinical nursing experience, basic EKG competency, and preference for Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; RN license required or eligible.
• Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience.
• 12 months Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care preferred.
• Basic EKG competence; ACLS/BLS preferred.
• Spanish bilingual skills preferred; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process to assess and plan patient care.
• Perform focused assessments; prioritize and coordinate care.
• Deliver age-appropriate nursing care with current standards.
• Maintain patient satisfaction through effective communication.
• Document IPOC and care plans per hospital policy.
• Coordinate discharge planning with care managers.
• Ensure orders are accurate; communicate changes to physicians.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and take action.
• Participate in unit orientation and training.
