Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) with 12-hour shifts to organize, plan, and direct high-quality, patient- and family-centered care based on the Watson Model of Care. The role reports to the Manager of Medical-Surgical Telemetry and supports the hospital's mission and core values.

The position requires clinical experience (minimum one year), BLS and ACLS certifications, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Nursing preferred; ADN or diploma acceptable.
• One year of clinical nursing experience required.
• 12 months Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Basic EKG competence.
• Certifications in Progressive Critical Care Nursing or Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates nursing process as a problem solving model and plans care for patients and families.
• Prioritizes and organizes patient care and ensures follow through with planned care.
• Performs care appropriate to patient age and unit needs; uses evidence and critical thinking to guide decisions.
• Demonstrates commitment to patient satisfaction and therapeutic nurse/patient relationship.
• Communicates using SBAR during hand-offs and documents IPOC, care plan, and evaluations.
