Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) to provide expert patient care on a 12-hour shift on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. You will plan, direct, and coordinate quality care, using the Watson Model of Care and engaging patients and families in their recovery.

You will collaborate with care managers, physicians, and nursing staff to ensure timely, evidence-based decisions, accurate documentation, and ongoing assessment of patient needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Nursing degree preferred or an equivalent nursing credential.
• RN with 1+ year clinical nursing experience; Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care exposure preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS certifications; CPI Blue Card within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Perform SBAR hand-offs and ensure accurate documentation in IPOC.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning and work with Care Managers.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital policies and quality improvement initiatives.
