Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA seeks an RN to join our Float Pool, delivering flexible coverage across ED, ICU, Med/Surg, Birth Center, and PACU.

The role requires 3+ years in Med/Surg, an active IA RN license, and required certifications (BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS); you’ll support multiple units and coordinate care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience or equivalent hospital experience
• Critical care experience preferred
• Must be willing to fill Resource Nurse role
• Active IA RN license
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, Hazmat, Mandatory Reporter, AMLS, and NRP certifications (in-house education available)
• Caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and comfortable with technological systems

Responsibilities

• Varying shifts in the ED, ICU, Med/Surg, Birth Center, Behavioral Health Services, and PACU.
• Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care across hospital departments.
• Ensure responsibility for outcomes of nursing care during each shift.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to provide total patient care.
• Adhere to age-related patient protocols for physical and psychological needs.

Position Highlights

Responsibilities

• Varying shifts in the ED, ICU, Resource, Med/Surg, Birth Center (post-partum) Behavioral Health Services, & Same Day Service Pre-Op and PACU.


• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the various departments in the hospital.


• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.


• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care.


• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.

Schedule

• Full Time benefit eligible


• 72 hours/pp


• 12 hour Day/Night rotation


• Weekend and holiday rotation per department requirements


• The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the hospital
