Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA is seeking a registered nurse to provide postoperative and acute care nursing using the nursing process to deliver individualized care. You will collaborate with the nursing team and ensure adherence to age-appropriate patient protocols for both physical and psychological needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold IA RN license or compact state license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process for postoperative and acute care patients.
• Accept responsibility for outcomes of nursing care during assigned shifts.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver total patient care.
• Apply age-appropriate patient protocols based on physical and psychological needs.

Position Highlights

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital. This position qualifies for hiring incentives. The amount of incentives offered may be discussed during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for post-operative and acute care patients requiring hospitalization
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients

Requirements

• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
• IA RN license or compact state BLS and ACLS - inhouse certification available upon hire
• New grads encouraged to apply - Nurse Residency Program upon hire!

Schedule

72 hours a pay period. 12 hour shifts. Day/Night. Holidays. Weekends. The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department.
