Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse to provide individualized patient care in the ICU using the nursing process. You will collaborate with the nursing team to ensure total patient care and will work a rotating schedule across days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Applicants must hold an IA RN license with BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications. New grads with a strong interest in critical care are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• IA RN license is required for practicing in Iowa.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications are required or inhouse education available.
• Experience in critical care is preferred; new grads with strong interest encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care in the ICU using the nursing process.
• Assume responsibility for outcomes of nursing care during assigned period.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver total patient care.

Position Highlights

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the ICU
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
• Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients

Requirements:

• Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
• IA RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC are required - inhouse education available upon hire
• One year of Medical/Surgical preferred or critical care experience
• New grads with a strong desire for critical care are encouraged to apply

Schedule:

• 36 hours a pay period
• Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday Rotation
• 12 hour shifts 6:30-7
• The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
