Job summary

Carle Health seeks an RN First Assist to support surgeons during general and specialized surgeries in a fast-paced perioperative setting. You will collaborate with OR teams to ensure readiness of trays, instrumentation, and supplies, while delivering direct patient care and administering medications.

The role requires CNOR certification, RN licensure, and a minimum of 2 years perioperative nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN with CNOR certification.
• Completed RNFA program certificate.
• At least 2+ years perioperative nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries.
• Ensure trays, instrumentation, and supplies are ready for each procedure.
• Provide patient care and administer medications.
• Scrub and circulate depending on unit needs; handle tissue and draping.
• Monitor patient vital signs and post-operative status.
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare.
• Participate in research and room turnover.
