Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an RN First Assist to support surgeons in general and specialized surgeries, ensuring sterile technique and readiness of trays and instruments. The RNFA will independently perform perioperative assessments and post-operative evaluations while collaborating with the OR team.

The role requires RN licensure with CNOR certification, BLS, and completion of an accredited RNFA program, along with at least 2 years of perioperative nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with IDFPR credentials including current license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries and prepare equipment.
• Provide patient care and support throughout the perioperative period.
• Administer medications as directed and monitor patient status.
• Scrub and circulate roles as needed and coordinate supplies.
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare.
• Document perioperative assessments and outcomes.
