Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Emergency Coordinator to influence patient care through collaborative leadership and participation in hospital councils and nursing initiatives.

The role emphasizes shaping decisions that elevate patient outcomes and advance the nursing profession, with a focus on staffing, training, and emergency department operations.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date (RN).
• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the state.
• Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree, or RN Diploma.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or PALS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses or TNCC must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit with the management team.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and managers to create teamwork for improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Operationalizes nursing strategies to improve engagement (e.g., rounds).
• Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff and actions to improve performance.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management per patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Assists with inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
