Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a registered nurse to lead the Observation Unit (Nursing) on a full-time basis, 36 hours per week, daytime shifts from 7a to 7p. This role supports management in ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and efficient department operations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical leadership, experience in staffing coordination, and a commitment to regulatory compliance, staff development, and continuous improvement in care delivery.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• Minimum two years nursing experience preferred.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• BSN required. RN candidates without BSN must enroll in BSN within 1 year and complete within 3 years.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supports management to enhance nursing practice quality and delivery of care.
• Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinates communication via staff meetings and huddles to promote dialogue.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state laws and regulations.
• Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess care and operations.
• Delegates care to appropriate staff according to policy.
• Assists in identifying outcomes and monitors progress toward goals.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments, and administers medications.
