Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure.
• Minimum two years nursing experience preferred; management experience preferred.
• BSN required; BSN enrollment within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date if not BSN.
• BLS required by policy.
• Professional certification within 1 year of eligibility for certification exam.

Responsibilities

• Support the manager to enhance nursing practice and care delivery in the department.
• Assist with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinate shift communication via staff meetings and huddles.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and policies.
• Round on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess care and operations.
• Delegate care to appropriate healthcare workers following policy parameters.
• Identify expected outcomes and direct continuity of care and department operations.
• Evaluate progress toward goals and communicate updates to the team.
• Perform nursing care and administer medications as needed.
• Coordinate patient flow and staffing based on volume and acuity.
