Job summary

Avera Cancer Institute-Sioux Falls seeks an experienced RN staff development educator to lead education and competency initiatives. You will act as educator, consultant, facilitator and change agent to advance evidence-based nursing practice within the clinical team.

You will develop assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of education programs, collaborate with nursing leaders, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with care standards through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• 1-3 years nursing experience.
• Specialty certification in area of nursing within 1 year (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent and leader.
• Develops and identifies clinical prevention strategies in area of expertise.
• Supports the development of the nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through evidenced-based clinical practice.
• Proactively participates in continuing education to enhance clinical practice.
• Serves as a resource in developing, implementing and evaluating clinical protocols and practice guidelines.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to develop and implement an education plan and orientation in clinical focus.
