Job summary

Avera Cancer Institute-Sioux Falls is seeking a skilled Nurse Educator to lead staff development and educational initiatives within a multidisciplinary cancer care team. You will act as educator, consultant and change agent, guiding competency assessments and leadership development to uphold evidence-based clinical practice.

The role emphasizes collaboration with nursing leadership to design education plans, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

RN license in the state of practice.
1–3 years nursing experience.

Responsibilities

Provides staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent and leader.
Develops and identifies clinical prevention strategies in area of expertise.
Supports the development of the nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through evidenced-based clinical practice.
Proactively participates in continuing education to enhance clinical practice.
Serves as a resource in the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines.
Collaborates with the director/manager to develop and implement an education and orientation plan in clinical area of focus.
Coaches and provides feedback to staff regarding nursing care.
Delegates, supervises, and evaluates nursing care while maintaining accountability for quality of care.
Contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
Assists in compiling and presenting optimal care standards via case reviews for committees.
