Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Clinical Nurse I to lead a care delivery team, directing nursing care with independence and collaboration. The CN I serves as an entry point to the Mercy (CHP) Clinical Ladder, with a path to CN II within one year.

The role requires RN licensure in Ohio, BLS/CPR, and completion of orientation and probation; ongoing education is expected to maintain clinical competencies.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current Ohio license and BLS/CPR certification.
• Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Successful completion of general and unit-specific orientation and hospital probationary period.
• Maintains a minimum of 12 contact hours annually in continuing education (including Fire Safety & CPR/BLS Recertification).
• Demonstrates theoretical knowledge with beginning clinical experience across a variety of patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Directs care for a team of patients, using CN II as a resource.
• Independently assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care.
• Communicates effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds.
• Reports to Nurse Manager or Administrative Supervisor; may receive instructions from CN II or Charge Nurse.
