Job summary

Fitch Ratings is seeking an Analyst to join the RMBS Group in New York or Chicago. You will collaborate with senior analysts on transaction analysis, run models, and perform spreadsheet analyses to evaluate credit risk and cash flow coverage.

You will present transaction reviews at rating committees and contribute to research reports and press releases, developing an understanding of legal and accounting issues affecting securities while supporting research projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree minimum.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience (excluding internships).
• Experience in capital markets, securitization/structured products, mortgage markets, and/or credit analysis is a plus.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze critical credit, legal, and structural elements of non-agency RMBS transactions.
• Produce quality internal and external written reports for credit committees, criteria, special reports, and market commentary.
• Communicate Fitch rating methodology and criteria to issuers and investors.
• Deploy and implement cash flow models and tools used in the rating process.
• Lead and/or support research projects.
