Job summary

Fitch Ratings seeks a Director for the RMBS Group in New York or Chicago. Lead end-to-end RMBS analysis, assess credit, cash flow, legal and structural risks, and present at rating committees. Mentor analysts and engage issuers, arrangers and investors to drive high-quality research.

The role emphasizes criteria development, market engagement, and producing insightful credit opinions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of RMBS/ABS, mortgage credit, structured finance or related capital markets experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; CFA/FRM a plus.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills including cash flow modeling and large data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable engaging senior external stakeholders.
• Collaborative, fast-paced mindset with ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end analysis and presentation of RMBS transactions across collateral, legal and structural risks.
• Own cash flow modeling, scenario design and sensitivity analysis; oversee model deployment and interpretation.
• Present recommendations at rating committees and document decisions to a high standard.
• Drive criteria application and contribute to criteria development and methodological enhancements.
• Produce high-quality research, market commentary, and issuer/investor communications.
• Manage and deepen issuer and transaction relationships; represent Fitch in external meetings.
• Coach and review junior and senior analysts to ensure rigor and consistency.
• Monitor market developments, regulatory changes and translate insights into viewpoints.
