Job summary

Fitch Ratings in New York is seeking an Analyst to join the Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) Group.

You will collaborate with more senior analysts on transaction analysis; run models and perform spreadsheet analysis to evaluate credit risk and cash flow coverage for RMBS transactions; present transaction reviews and analysis at rating committees; develop an understanding of legal and accounting issues affecting a security; and contribute to research reports and press releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree at minimum.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience (excluding internships).
• Experience in capital markets, securitization/structured products, mortgage markets, and/or credit analysis is a plus.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze critical credit, legal, and structural elements of non-agency RMBS transactions.
• Produce quality internal and external reports, including committees and market commentary.
• Communicate Fitch rating methodology and criteria to issuers and investors.
• Deploy and implement cash flow models and tools used in the rating process.
• Lead and/or support research projects.
