Core Responsibilities:

1. Learn manual and claim experience rating models and pricing tools.
2. Perform risk assessments and rate development for large, complex cases independently.
3. Develop strategic recommendations on market competition, product development, and pricing.
4. Engage with Sales and Clients on case strategies and market discussions.
5. Assist Sales as a financial consultant, understanding rating models, claim projections, and plan designs.
6. Manage a complex book of business focused on profitable growth and earnings.
7. Collaborate with other Underwriting teams to optimize cross-sale opportunities.
8. Work with product/pricing teams on market needs.
9. Operate autonomously, applying judgment to techniques and procedures.
10. Hold calls with Sales, brokers, or clients independently.
11. Mentor less experienced underwriters as a technical and strategic expert.
12. Lead by example and influence underwriting best practices.
13. Lead or contribute to complex projects, proposing improvements.
14. This role involves 10-15% internal project work on strategy and process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of related experience, including 3 years in medical underwriting.
• Experience within the past 5 years is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, Mathematics, Business, or related fields is preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle complex cases and adapt to market changes.
• Excellent decision-making and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Passion for leadership in the health services industry.
• Innovative, customer-focused, and analytical skills.

For remote work, internet must be via cable broadband or fiber with at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds.

Anticipated salary ranges from $86,700 to $144,500 USD annually, depending on experience and location, plus potential bonuses.
