Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer for our Lawrenceville, NJ or Morristown, NJ office. Join our Transportation Team to contribute to bridges, sign structures, and other projects while developing technical, social, and ethical skills.

You will assist with design calculations, fieldwork, and preparation of drawings; work under supervision, applying basic structural engineering principles and adhering to WSP's safety policies. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
• The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Apply basic principles of Structural Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of design drawings/plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist more experienced engineers in broader engineering activities, assuming more responsibility as experience increases.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
