Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer for our Lawrenceville, NJ or Morristown, NJ offices to join the Transportation Team. You will contribute to projects with NJDOT, NJTA and other agencies, supporting design and construction tasks.

The role emphasizes learning, fieldwork, calculations, drawings, and cost estimates; you will assist more experienced engineers, develop technical writing and analytical skills, and may travel occasionally.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
0–1 year of relevant post-education experience.
Internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Apply basic principles of Structural Engineering.
Assist with project research, field work, and design calculations and analysis.
Support preparation of design drawings/plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
Assist more experienced engineers and assume more responsibility as experience increases.
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
