Job summary

Walmart Lakeside, CO is seeking an Emerging Store Manager to develop across store operations, including merchandising, people leadership, financial management, and customer experience. The program lasts 12–18 months with mobility within the region for Store Manager opportunities.

The role requires leadership of hourly associates and managers, budget awareness, and community engagement. It prepares associates for advancement into Store Manager roles within Walmart US.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, retail management, financial management and 2 years' management experience.
• Option 2: 4 years' management experience in retail, operations or distribution with supervision, mentoring and hiring responsibilities.
• 2 years' general management experience, including responsibility for financial accountability.
• For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific CBC and Firearms Authorized Training.
• For facilities that sell only ammunition, successful completion of a state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop across merchandising, people leadership, financial management, customer experience and community engagement for Store Manager readiness.
• Assist in managing the store's financial performance and monitor expenditures against budget.
• Support sales through effective merchandise presentation, pricing, signing and proper inventory levels.
• Lead staffing plans and talent pipelines to ensure readiness for Store Manager placement.
• Promote community outreach and maintain Open Door Policy with associates and managers.
• Ensure compliance with policies, asset protection and safety controls; analyze reports and performance metrics.
