Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training to develop leadership skills and drive club performance across departments. The AMIT will partner with the Club Manager to oversee daily operations, coach teams, ensure policy execution, and deliver a premium member experience.

This role requires strong communication, 4+ years in retail management, and the ability to lead a large team. Training leads to one of three track positions: Merchandising, Perishables, or Member

Qualifications

• 4+ years of retail store/warehouse operations management.
• Strong drive for results and solid work ethic.
• Honest, straightforward and customer-focused.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a large team.
• Knowledge of shrink controls, merchandising, and frontline operations.
• Proven leadership across cross-functional teams.
• MS Word, Excel, and email literacy required.
• ServSafe certification required.
• Forklift operator certification required.
• Open shift availability.
• Must be 18+.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members and certify staff.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling to meet targets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management.
• Champion Member Experience Standards (GAA, GOLD) and service excellence.
• Develop talent and coach team members; oversee onboarding and training.
