Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions in Columbus is seeking a full-time Rigger to set up, assemble, or disassemble rigging for relocation and transport of machinery. You will prepare gear, inspect materials, and communicate safety signals to team members.

The role requires reading blueprints, following safety protocols, and operating or maintaining rigging equipment within an active industrial setting. CDL may be required for certain tasks.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to take direction and closely follow instruction.
• Read blueprints or schematics as required.
• Familiar with standard hand or flag signals and safety PPE.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test rigging materials for safety and reliability.
• Align, level, and anchor machinery or equipment.
• Use hand/power tools to attach loads and prepare for moving.
• Select gear (cables, pulleys, winches) per load specs and area.
• Communicate with workers via signals to ensure safety.
• Move heavy equipment using rigging lines and hoists.
• Dismantle, inspect, clean, organize, and store rigging gear.
• Operate vehicles or mechanized equipment as needed.
• Assist in fabrication and repair of rigging structures.
