Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a skilled Rigger to set up, assemble, or disassemble rigging for relocation and transportation of machinery and equipment. The role requires attention to load specs, safe operation, and effective communication with team members to ensure safe handling of heavy loads.

The position involves inspecting rigging materials, selecting appropriate gear, and operating tools and vehicles as needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Able to follow instructions and work under direction
• Ability to predict outcomes based on load and setup
• Ability to read tape measures, levels, calipers and gauges
• Correctly estimate weight-bearing capacity of tools/equipment
• Read blueprints/schematics/technical manuals as required
• Familiar with hand/flag signals and safety protocols
• Valid CDL and/or endorsements may be required for some positions

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect rigging materials for safety and reliability
• Align, level, and anchor machinery or equipment
• Attach loads to rigging using hand/power tools
• Select appropriate gear based on load and job specs
• Communicate signals for hoisting and moving loads
• Move and secure heavy equipment through confined spaces
• Operate vehicles or mechanized equipment as needed
