Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions in Maryland is seeking a full-time Rigger to set up, assemble, and disassemble rigging for relocation and transportation of machinery. You will select gear, operate hoists, and communicate with the team to maintain safety and efficiency.

This hands-on role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to read blueprints and use hand, power, and pneumatic tools. A HS diploma and valid driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to take direction and closely follow instruction.
Visualize or predict outcomes using deductive and inductive reasoning.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical manuals as required.
Familiar with rigging signaling and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Visually inspect and test rigging materials to ensure safety and reliability.
Align, level, and anchor machinery or equipment.
Use hand and/or power tools to attach loads to rigging and prepare for moving.
Select appropriate gear according to load weights and sizes and work area.
Be aware of obstacles and location of other people.
Signal or verbally communicate with workers during hoisting and moving loads.
Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move materials or machinery.
Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
