Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions in Southbridge, MA is seeking a skilled Rigger to set up and dismantle job-specific rigging for relocation and/or transportation of machinery and tools. You will select proper gear, inspect rigging, and communicate with operators to ensure safe handling of loads.

The role requires reading blueprints, following safety protocols, and operating lifting equipment. A valid CDL or related endorsements may be required for certain tasks; this is a physically demanding, on-site

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to take direction and closely follow instruction.
• Read blueprints, schematics, or technical manuals as required.
• Familiar with hand/flag signals and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test rigging materials to ensure safety and reliability.
• Align, level, and anchor machinery or equipment.
• Use hand and/or power tools to attach loads to rigging for moving or securing equipment.
• Select gear such as cables, pulleys, winches according to load weights and sizes.
• Signal or verbally communicate with workers during hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety.
• Operate vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, or ariel lifts.
