Job summary

Axis in Snyder, TX is seeking a Derrick Hand to join a 4–5‑person crew on workover rigs. Responsible for elevated work on the derrick, maintenance of rig components, and supporting other rig functions under supervision. Rolls include rigging up/down, tubing board tasks, and safety compliance.

You will work 12-hour shifts on a 14/7 rotation and may travel up to 75% based on operational needs; a valid license and pre-employment checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Valid state driver license; CDL Class A or B preferred.
• Minimum 1 year Derrick hand experience; 2+ years workover rig floor experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist operator in rigging up/down and lining up the well.
• Perform elevated work on rigging up/down (e.g., remove horse head).
• Handle rod basket and tubing board; transfer rods/tubing between racks.
• Assist in lifting tubing onto the floor; walk rods on/off.
• Set hydraulic jacks; attach guy wires to anchors.
• Walk the rods when laying down; report safety hazards.
• Follow Axis policies and safety programs; may operate floors.
• May drive crew truck; maintain active state driver license.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
