Job summary

Axis is seeking a Derrick Hand to join a 4–5-person workover rig crew near La Salle, CO. You will perform elevated work on the derrick, assist with rigging up/down, and support other rig functions in a fast-paced field environment. Valid driver's license and pre-employment screenings required.

The role requires 12-hour shifts on a 14/7 rotation, lifting up to 50 lbs frequently, travel up to 75% as needed, and strict adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state driver license with acceptable MVR; CDL class A or B preferred.
• 1+ year Derrick hand experience; 2+ years workover rig floor experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
• Willingness to work a rotational field schedule and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist operator in rigging up and down, align the service rig with the well.
• Perform elevated work on the derrick, including tubing board and rod basket tasks.
• Maintain and service derrick structures and components.
• Support other workover rig functions as directed by Tool Pusher or Rig Operator.
• Report safety hazards and ensure compliance with Axis and customer safety programs.
