Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an RFIC Layout Designer for the Starshield Silicon team. You will lead the layout discipline for complex RF and analog blocks in support of space and ground infrastructure.

You will work with IC designers, packaging engineers, and EDA vendors on full chip layout and tape-out readiness. Responsibilities include floorplanning, scheduling layout work, ensuring low parasitic layouts, and validating with DRC/ER/ LVS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years in IC layout in lieu of degree.
• 1+ years of professional experience as an IC layout designer.
• Strong analog layout skills and experience with RF/mixed signal circuits.

Responsibilities

• Determine chip floor plan including power/ground distribution.
• Estimate layout schedule and identify complexities early.
• Layout of custom RF and analog blocks with careful matching.
• Perform DRC/ER/ LVS and resolve layout errors.
• Coordinate top-level layout with ESD structures and pad assembly
• Collaborate with EDA vendors to trial new tools and features
• Develop guides/demos to share layout techniques
