Job summary

BearCom in Chantilly, VA is seeking a seasoned service technician to diagnose, repair, program, and install Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, and Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio field. You will work with RF systems, DAS/BDA components, and related hardware to meet customer requirements.

This role involves regional travel, on-call hours, and hands-on testing with spectrum analyzers, watt meters, and other test gear.

Qualifications

• 5+ years service technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment.
• Strong knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Create Mid-Level Programming Codeplugs (12+ Channels, Trunking, Multiple Zones).
• Install and service Wireless Communications Equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz, Dispatch Consoles, BDA/DAS, Microwave, CCTV).
• Recommend equipment and hardware that meets customer requirements.
• Some regional and/or overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
