Job summary

Alerus is seeking a Plan Document Manager to lead a small team of plan document experts, manage projects such as restatements, and coach staff to achieve excellence in retirement plan documentation.

As the SME on retirement plan documents, you will partner with Compliance to ensure service standards, support performance, and drive operational effectiveness across the team. You will oversee audits and onboarding while contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field required.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Depth of knowledge of retirement plan document provisions and application.
• QKA credential recommended; candidates pursuing designation considered.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to handle multiple stakeholders.
• Continuous improvement mindset with history of process enhancements.
• Ability to work independently and set priorities.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of plan document experts and manage team projects.
• Coach, develop, and provide mentorship to staff.
• Balance hands-on supervision with cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality documents.
• Monitor performance, identify risks, and support performance management.
• Oversee audits, procedures, and adherence to processes.
• Provide onboarding and ongoing training for new team members.
• Drive operational improvements through new initiatives and rollouts.
