Job summary

Alerus Financial is seeking a Plan Document Manager to lead a small team of plan document experts and oversee related projects. This role partners with Compliance to ensure service standards and drives operational effectiveness for clients and associates alike.

Key responsibilities include coaching, performance management, cross-functional coordination, and ongoing process improvements. A strong background in retirement plan documents and a QKA credential is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Depth of knowledge of retirement plan document provisions, interpretation, and application.
• QKA credential is strongly recommended; candidates pursuing it will be considered.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of plan document experts and manage team projects.
• Ensure balanced workload, high-quality deliverables, and cross-functional communication.
• Monitor performance, identify risks and training needs; support performance management.
• Provide guidance to internal partners and clients as needed.
• Build relationships with cross-functional partners and oversee audits.
• Participate in onboarding and ongoing training of new team members.
• Drive operational improvements through new initiatives and rollouts.
