Job summary

Floor & Decor in Portland, ME is seeking a Training and Development Specialist to lead Product Sales Specialists and ensure customers receive exceptional service with expert product information. You will guide the team to apply the basic P’s of retail and maintain store standards in a busy environment.

You will conduct certification courses, supervise merchandise presentation and pricing, and deliver engaging how-to classes while upholding safety practices and efficient checkout operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Act in accordance with company values and programs
• Lead product sales specialist certifications and training
• Demonstrate understanding of merchandise, installation and showroom
• Manage department merchandising, pricing and organization
• Deliver customer service with attentiveness and accuracy
• Present how-to classes and process POS transactions
• Communicate SOP changes to associates in a timely manner
• Maintain forklift proficiency and safety procedures
• Greet customers and assist with product questions and selections
• Stock, tag, and price merchandise displays
